Step by Step

Our Process

From consultation to completion, here's how we transform your home

Step 1

Wash

We begin by power washing your house or structure with a high-pressure power washer. This method is also used if paint stripping is necessary.

Step 2

Prep

Dependable Painting and Remodeling will then wait for the house to dry.

All scraping and sanding of flaking, chipping, or peeling paint are performed.
All bare wood surfaces are primed.
Blistering siding will be brushed and back rolled at this stage to help seal and improve the final coat appearance. (Note: Back rolling is not performed during spray application to maintain the proper texture).
Please be aware: not all blistering will be completely concealed upon completion.
We caulk the entire house using a 45-55 year caulk to seal: all soffit vents, vinyl windows, re-caulk bronze windows if necessary, caulk the backs of highly visible lower fascia and soffit, and caulk all corner boards, door jambs, cracks, and any other places to make the final paint job look clean and neat.

Step 3

Paint

Once the house is fully dry:

We apply all paints according to manufacturer specifications to maintain the warranty.
Proper warranty coverage requires applying paint at the correct mil thickness (wet or dry).
Two coats are standard; additional coats may be added for coverage or hiding as needed.

Application Details:

All trim, window trim, corner boards, side battings, fascia, and door jambs are brushed and rolled with two coats where appropriate.
Gutters are primed and painted using an airless sprayer with a fine finish tip.
The structure's body is painted with an airless sprayer, applying at the correct thickness, overlapping by 50% for proper coverage and warranty.
All primed and blistered areas are back rolled before spraying—giving them three layers of paint.

Step 4

Clean

Dependable Painting and Remodeling will leave the job site cleaner than when we arrived, which includes:

Picking up all trash
Cleaning walkways, driveways, porches, and surrounding areas

Step 5

Touch-up Kit

A labeled touch-up kit—including a pint of each paint or product used—is left for your convenience (when available).

Step 6

Invoice

Upon completion, we email your invoice on the same day the job is finished.
