Teal

Teal is a light blue-green color. Its name comes from a bird, the green-winged teal (Anas crecca), which has a similarly colored stripe on its head. The word is often used colloquially to refer to shades of cyan in general. It can be created by mixing cyan with a green base, or go deeper with black or gray if needed. The complementary color of teal is pink. It is also one of the first sets of 16 HTML/CSS web colors formulated in 1987. In the RGB model, used to create color on computer monitors and televisions, cyan is created by reducing the brightness of the cyan by about half. Teal was a trendy color in the 1990s, adopted by many sports teams for their uniforms, among others.
