Midnight blue is a dark blue hue named for its resemblance to the apparent blue color of a moonlit night sky around a full moon. Midnight blue is blue to the eye in sunlight or full-spectrum light, but can appear black under some of the narrower spectrums sometimes found in artificial lights (particularly early 20th-century incandescent bulbs) . It looks like navy blue, which is also a dark blue.
